The idea of collecting examples of successful grant applications is not new. The concept often arises at conferences and training days, and a number of UK organisations have considered developing such a resource. As yet, however, nothing has appeared.

The idea has been suggested today by Action Without Borders in their monthly newsletter Ideas in Action. Russ Finkelstein writes: “many organizations, especially smaller and younger ones, have no way of knowing what potential funders *really* want to see in a proposal. What does a great proposal or letter of inquiry really look like? Why did it get funded? How did the process work?
