DIY planned giving Web site

The Planned Giving Design Center offers nonprofits a way to enhance their planned giving promotion on the Web.

Nonprofits can link to the Center’s Web site which can be customised to appear as if it were part of the nonprofit’s Web site. The publishers then provide extensive information on planned giving, including model planned gift forms, via the nonprofit’s site.

Participating charities pay a one-time setup fee of $6,000 and thereafter a quarterly fee of $3,000.

The Center helps develop the nonprofits’ existing relationships with legal, tax, and financial services professionals in their communities: by using the Internet to provide comprehensive educational content on the subject of charitable financial and estate planning the service will establish up to 300 nonprofits as the clearinghouse for the most comprehensive information resource for planned giving available in their communities. The overall aim is “to help charitable organizations cultivate strategic alliances with every legal, tax, and financial services professional in their communities who have the capacity to influence and advance planned giving among their clients.”

This pioneering example of Web-based syndicated content presents exciting possibilities for other professional publishers in the non-profit sector.
