Sporting first aid retail website firstaid4sport.co.uk is donating huge tubs of petroleum jelly to the long distance walking teams in Oxfam's 100km 2005 trailwalker event. The teams will rub the jelly on sensitive parts of their bodies, which are known to suffer during gruelling, long distance walks.

The Intermediate Technology Development Group (ITDG), set up in the 1960s to address poverty and help redress the problem of the rich world off loading inappropriate technology onto the poor world, has today been renamed Practical Action.
The charity believes that its new name will help it communicate to a wider audience because it better reflects its mission.

From today social enterprise organisations can choose a different method of corporate registration, the "Community Interest Company".
Governed by the Companies (Audit, Investigations and Community Enterprise) Act 2004 and the Community Interest Company Regulations, the Community Interest Company (CIC), is a new form of company for nonprofit organisations.
