Bowel Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) kicks off today and runs throughout April. As well as awareness-raising, the month includes a '1000 Get Togethers' fundraising campaign by Colon Cancer Concern (CCC).
Colon Cancer Concern's '1000 Get Togethers' initiative involves asking 1000 supporters to organise a get-together and raise funds for the charity.

Funders are in a key position to help promote awareness of the potential of collaborative working and to assist good practice, according to the National Council for Voluntary Organisations' (NCVO) Collaborative Working Unit (CWU).
The CWU recently conducted baseline research into funders' knowledge, understanding and awareness of collaborative working.

The Charity Commission has warned the public that conmen are selling fake charity wristbands online.
Wristbands supporting causes such as anti-bullying, anti-racism and the recently launched Make Poverty History campaign have become very popular. As a result, conmen have lept on the (wrist)bandwagon and are selling fake charity wristbands.

ChildLine has announced a year-long partnership with TM Retail, whose 1400 stores trade as Martin's, McColl's, Forbuoys and Dillons.
Through a combination of staff fundraising events and initiatives, and customer donations to on-counter collection boxes, the company hopes to raise over £100,000 for ChildLine.

Bank of Ireland UK Financial Services has announced ChildLine as its chosen charity of the year for 2005 following a staff vote.
Launching the partnership, Roy Keenan, Chief Executive of Bank of Ireland UK Financial Services, announced a year-long series of fundraising events including sponsored firewalks, spooky sleepovers and marathons.
