New CEO for Institute

Peter Lewis is to join the Institute of Fundraising in October as its new chief executive.
Lewis is currently the chief executive of London Voluntary Service Council and is a former City solicitor.
Chair of the Institute Mark Astarita said: “We are excited that Peter is joining us in this vital leadership role. We have found someone who has a successful track record of not only leading membership based charities, but also in senior roles in government and the private sector. Peter will be a great asset to our already strong team.”
Lewis said he was looking forward to working with government and other partners to unlock the giving potential of the country. “Never has the role of fundraisers in bringing in every penny of extra cash been more important than at this time of public spending cuts and continued economic uncertainty,” he said.
“I am passionate about the work that the voluntary, community and charitable sectors deliver, and delighted to be joining the INstitute’s expert team of staff, volunteers and trustees to help it grow and develop further.”
