Welcome to the Institute of Fundraising National Awards blog

Howard Lake | 19 January 2007 | Blogs

As a sponsor and partner with the Institute in the awards, UK Fundraising is delighted to produce this blog to give you more news and information on this year’s awards.
As well as this introduction, which will explain the reasons behind the awards, what the categories are and how you can enter them, UK Fundraising will be publishing regular reminders of the closing date for entries (2 March 2007) and after the judging will be profiling the shortlisted fundraisers, campaigns and organisations.
After the awards we hope to bring you interviews with some of the winners and analysis of the best of the campaigns.
This year there are nine awards for campaigns:
âBest E-Media Campaign
âBest Direct Mail Fundraising Campaign
âBest Telephone Campaign
âBest Face-To-Face Campaign
âBest Local/Regional Campaign
âBest Business-Charity Partnership
âBest Door Acquisition Campaign
âBest Donor Development Campaign
âMost Innovative Fundraising Campaign
Individual and team awards are:
âVolunteer Fundraiser of the Year
âFundraising Team of the Year
âBest Fundraising Charity to Work For
âBest Up and Coming Fundraiser
âFundraiser of the Year
âLifetime Contribution Award
The Institute of Fundraising champions best practice in fundraising – and what better way to do that than by celebrating the outstanding achievements of some of the sector’s many fundraisers, teams and organisations.
The winners will represent a huge variety of campaigns and causes from the breadth of the voluntary sector.
There is another reason for encouraging as many of you as possible to enter your best campaigns and fundraisers in the Awards.
The Institute would like to build a ‘library’ of best practice case studies as a fantastic source of information for charities to learn what has been achieved and how. We hope that entries to the awards will form the core of this resource so that everyone can benefit from your experiences – with your permission, of course.
So, put your thinking caps on, your computer connected to www.nationalfundraisingawards.org.uk and fill in that form! Closing date is 2 March.
Winners will be presented with their awards at the Institute of Fundraising National Convention on Monday 9 July at the Hilton London Metropole with an audience of over 700 key fundraising practitioners and suppliers.
