I’ve been talking to a national Sunday newspaper journalist today who was writing about trends in charities’ use of celebrities in fundraising such as the use of contracts with celebrities to ensure protection of brand, maximisation of relationship, staying on message etc.
The journalist hadn’t yet been able to secure much detail from charities on who was using celebrity contracts and how: most charities he had talked to had been quite cagey, it seems, about discussing this in detail.
So, if you’ve got any good practice in this area that you think would benefit from national coverage then you’re welcome to post your contribution here. The journalist will be checking this forum over the next few days.
Alternatively if you’d like to speak directly to the journalist I can put you in touch.
For what it’s worth, the newspaper is a Sunday broadsheet and the approach isn’t an attempt to trip charities out: if anything the angle seemed to be to feature new/good business practices by charities.
Over to you.
