We’re currently using The Raiser’s Edge, and are considering the possibility of also using Blackbaud’s The Information Edge to automate a lot of the data extraction and analysis that we currently do manually.

Does anyone have any experiences, good or bad, with The Information Edge? Or can anyone suggest any alternative data mining/business intelligence packages that would work with The Raiser’s Edge to provide the same analysis and segmentation functionality.

By the way, we’re very happy with RE as our primary fundraising database, so please don’t bother suggesting solutions which would involve moving away from that.

    Hi Simon,

Have you tried setting up bespoke reports in RE to pull out this data? I find this is a useful way to extract data that was previously obtained by manual queries. Also, have you showed Blackbaud the analysis you require to ascertain whether it can be automated with RE rather than going to the added expense of the Information Edge?

Let me know how you get on.
