    Hello,

Can anyone recommend some good charity event insurers. We are holding a one off musical event and so need cover for public liability and also against risk of cancelation by our performers. Quotes so far are extortionate – over £1,000.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Victoria

    Hello Victoria,

It may be worth negotiating with the people who provide your public liaibilty and employers insurance to get a better all round deal. It’s often more attractive to the insurer if you have a larger portfolio for them to quote for. They shouldn’t be surprised if you negotiate hard with them!

The other thing to bear in mind is the ethical stance of your insurer and whether they work with other charities. Some insurers have their own charitable foundations you could apply to for funds and if they have an office in your area they may well release their staff to volunteer at your event or they may match fund anything the staff raise in taking part.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Victoria,

It can be difficult to find a suitable premium depending on the risks involved. Try WorldWide Special Risks http://www.worldwidespecialrisks.co.uk

I work there are we provide cover for many different types of events and exhibitions.

    Regards

    Sam
