Context: I’m a novice fundraiser and sole Western Employee for my charity (out of a total part time staff of 3) through the Vodaphone World of Difference Scheme – which means I’ve got two months employment with my charity. I’ve been heavily involved in and volunteered for three years for this charity and it has huge potential – we just don’t have much in the way of experience. I love my job and have aiming to do this job for a long time, so I’m driving this very small charity forward to get itself ready for fundraising. I need to be able to fundraise for quite a lot of things but one of them is my job, but my time is mostly taken with running events.
Firstly, I’m looking for some magical grant resource that tells me who the trusts and foundations are that might help with core costs and volunteer UK/International charities, and secondly – my most basic question:
If a company wishes to make a donation to my charity – is there a template anywhere for accepting donations? I run events and a team has asked me… it sounds like they have a corporate donation, and we’ve never had one of those before. Our finance people in the charity dont know and have asked me to create a template. What would be the normal procedure?
