Crisis or Opportunity?
How will the current economic crisis impact philanthropic giving, and which strategies should fundraisers adopt to meet the challenges of a downturn?
EAPG London Seminar
9.00am – 1.00pm Tuesday 9 December 2008
A seminar to dispel the doom and gloom the current economic situation is causing among fundraising organizations.
The seminar aims to encourage hope and confidence by seeking practical solutions to the challenges posed by the current economic downturn.
Topics will include a survey of charitable giving trends and fundraising experiences from previous recessions and downturns and consider the impact of the current ‘crisis’ on small and major donors and philanthropists.
Speakers include Brakeley’s President John Kelly and Senior Consultant, Vanessa Bowcock, as well as Alan Clayton, Managing Director of the voluntary sector division at The Good Agency, the marketing and communications agency for ‘good causes’ and was in the top ten in Professional Fundraising’s “Most Influential People in Fundraising” 2008. Alec Reed, the entrepreneur best known for the recruitment company that bears his name, is also that rare breed of philanthropist who loves funding fundraising and will join the morning’s discussion. The session will also include a panel of professional advisers from the private client world who will discuss the giving trends they are seeing amongst their own wealthy clients in the current economic environment.
