Being a Charity Trustee

3 May 2012 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Being a charity trustee is an important and demanding role, very similar to being a non-executive director. This event looks at what makes an effective charity board, the skills and attributes of a successful charity trustee, the essentials of charity finance that every trustee should know and hears from an experienced trustee about what the role is really like.

The seminar, hosted by the Financial Times Non-Executive Directors’ Club, will be followed by networking drinks.

Topics and speakers:

The effective Charity Board
Philip Kirkpatrick – Bates, Wells & Braithwaite and On Board

Charity Finance Essentials
Richard Wilson – Chairman, Independent Direct Programme, Ernst & Young LLP

Personal experience of a trustee
Denis Burn – Experienced Charity Trustee and Chairman, Bristol University
