**The eighth edition of one of the sector’s longest running reference works is published
on 7 September 2026, comprehensively revised by a new author, Robin Peake.**

_The Complete Fundraising Handbook_ has been in print since 1992, and has passed
through several hands over those 34 years. This edition, published by the [Directory of Social Change](https://www.dsc.org.uk/publication/the-complete-fundraising-handbook/),
runs to 416 pages and costs £35 in paperback. Digital editions are available on
publication.

## What is new in this edition

The book covers the main fundraising sources and techniques, with case studies and
practical guidance throughout. Peake has added new chapters on learning and development,
dealing both with building specialist technical knowledge and with the management
side of the job: managing tasks, projects, people, change, and oneself.

The publisher positions the book for professional and would-be fundraisers and consultants,
and also for chief executives, trustees and managers who need to understand what
fundraising involves and how they can support it.

## About Robin Peake

Robin Peake has been a professional fundraiser since 2012. He has been a lone fundraiser
at a small charity, founded his own housing charity, and served as Director of Fundraising
at a charity with £10 million in annual income. At three successive charities he
doubled fundraised income in under four years. He is currently Deputy Chief Executive
at Wycliffe Bible Translators, where he oversees fundraising, and is a trustee of
a grant-making charity.

The foreword is by Liz Tait, Director of Fundraising at Great Ormond Street Hospital
Charity. Endorsements come from Katie Docherty, Chief Executive of the Chartered
Institute of Fundraising, Meredith Niles, Deputy Chair of Plan International UK,
Angie Turner, Head of Philanthropy at The Children’s Trust, and John Lepp of Agents
of Good.

“Over two decades working in fundraising and charity leadership, I’ve seen techniques,
technologies and trends come and go; the principles that underpin great fundraising,
however, endure. Grounded in those timeless principles, this new edition combines
practical guidance with contemporary insight, making it an invaluable resource for
fundraisers at every stage of their careers.”
