Open is holding its first summer school next month, with weekly workshops to boost fundraising skills.

Attendance is free and registering provides automatic access to the whole programme. Those that attend all four workshops will receive a certificate of completion.

The workshops are:

Recruiting and managing millennials, a course by Bruce Tait.

– How to write for charity (4 August)
– How to fundraise – getting the basics right (18 August)
– How to fundraise with a subscription product (25 August)
– How to make more effective DRTV (31 August)

Each workshop will include a short presentation of the top ten training tips for that week’s topic before opening up for a live session of Q&A, collaboration, and problem solving.

The workshops will all start at 1pm BST, and last for an hour. They will be subtitled using technology, but not recorded.

More information on the Open Summer School sessions and the registration form is available here.

Media Trust Digital Summer School

Media Trust is also running a free summer school in August, although entries to this have now closed.

Its Digital Summer School 2021 runs from 2-20 August, and will teach charity professionals, volunteers and trustees how to inspire, engage and mobilise their audience.

Every Tuesday and Thursday morning throughout the three-week programme, there will be a 90-minute workshop, each on a different theme and delivered by a digital expert.  There will also be home study, wellness activities, and group digital mentoring.
