At Charity Fast-Track, we want to stimulate the growth of a more diverse, skilled and enterprising charity workforce. We believe there is a lack of easy to access, relevant and affordable learning and development opportunities across the sector, and this is holding it back.
Charity sector essentials
Our flagship course is our Charity Fast-Track Foundation course. This is for people looking to get into the sector, or advance their career.
We want to make it easier for people from all backgrounds to accelerate their charity sector career. Movements such as CharitySoWhite and NonGraduatesWelcome have highlighted the barriers many face to entry and progress in the sector.
Many also lack the networks they need to thrive in the sector, with its pressures often contributing to siloed working and a lack of joined up thinking.
These are the problems we are determined to address. Our Foundation Course is 12 weeks of high-quality blended learning centred on charity essentials and perfect to fit around a full time job or study.
Students cover five core modules, written by charity sector experts.
● Make Money
● Drive Change
● Deliver Impact
They also benefit from completing a practical fundraising challenge that teaches them important skills around volunteer management and motivation, as well as allowing them to
put communicating and influencing skills into practice.
Our students leave having built strong networks across the sector and beyond, and ready to create serious social impact wherever they want to go.
Those looking to enter the sector have found jobs at charities such as Parkinson’s UK, Mencap and Child.org, whilst those looking to develop their careers have described “benefit[ting] from hands on practical experience”, enabling them to be much more impactful in their roles.
Charity sector diversity
We’re also committed to partnering with other organisations to offer 1 in 10 of our places away for free. We want these places to go to members of under-represented groups; the
charity sector will only continue to thrive if it makes itself much more accessible.
