**A new study shows that 62% of Irish charities now accept donations on their websites,
according to research carried out by Digital Charity Lab, the official Irish partner
of the Global NGO Technology Report.**

Key findings include:

 * 78% of Irish charities send email communications, though many contact their lists
   infrequently
 * Only 30% of Irish charities use Facebook’s Fundraising tools, well below the
   North American figure of 45%
 * 96% of charities use social media, but only 48% have a social media strategy
 * Irish charities use Google Ads more than their peers in Europe and North America,
but many with the Google Grant are not using it

The most popular payment types used for fundraising were credit card (87%), direct
debit (55%) and PayPal (55%). Among online fundraising tools, recurring/monthly
giving was used by 92% of organisations surveyed.

88%), Instagram (48%), LinkedIn (46%), YouTube (34%) and WhatsApp (6%).

139 Irish non-profits completed [the survey](http://www.funraise.org/techreport).
