“We’re delighted that Independent News and Media has come on board to support our
2016 Daffodil Day campaign and we’re particularly thrilled to see our signature
Daffodil take prominence both online and in print,” CEO of the ICS, John McCormack,
said.

Speaking of the partnership, Lia Bresnihan, Head of Digital Marketing, INM said:

“We are honoured to work with and support the [Irish Cancer Society](http://www.cancer.ie)
this year on what is a media first for us. Digitally we reach 9.7m people per month
on Independent.ie and daily we reach 688,000 readers in the Irish Independent.”

The Daffodil Day appeal is the largest fundraising campaign in Ireland and in 2015
raised €3.3 million for the ICS, down from €3.4 the year before. In 2012 the campaign
raised €2.5 million. ICS raised €23 million in 2015.

As well as selling daffodil emblems with the aid of thousands of volunteers, the
