# Kidscan invites applications for £200k childhood cancer research fund - Link: https://fundraising.co.uk/2016/12/02/kidscan-invites-applications-200k-childhood-cancer-research-fund/ - Published: 2016-12-02T14:40:28+00:00 - Author: Howard Lake **Children’s cancer charity Kidscan has announced a £200,000 fund for research into new treatments for childhood cancers, and it is inviting funding applications from scientists.** The Salford-based charity is offering ‘pump priming’ awards of up to **£10,000** over a 12 month period. This is a great opportunity to really make a difference to > the future of childhood cancer treatment.” The funding was announced on the anniversary of the charity’s creation Kidscan was founded on 2 December 2002 by Professor Alan McGown who had identified that there was no research institute that specifically supported children’s cancer.
