# Damien Hirst guitar helps raise £307,000 for Stand Up To Cancer

**An auction of collectable items from the art and music worlds has raised £307,000
for [Stand Up To Cancer](https://www.standuptocancer.org.uk).**

The Damien Hirst Butterfly guitar, a Gibson Les Paul Goddess, customised and signed
by the artist especially for the event was the highest selling item, raising £25,000.
Other items include David Bowie artwork, and a painting of Mick Jagger by Ronnie
Wood.

The auction was part of Sound & Vision, a night of art and music hosted at Abbey
Road Studios, which also saw live performances from acts including Anastacia, The
Real Thing and Odyssey.

Since its 2012 launch the joint campaign between Cancer Research UK and Channel 
4 has raised more than £38m, supporting more than 30 clinical trials and projects.
This year’s Stand Up To Cancer live event, which took place on 21st October, raised
over £15m.
