# Wickes partnership raises £5 million for Bloodwise

**With the help of public support, Wickes has raised £5m for [Bloodwise](http://www.bloodwise.org.uk/‎)
over the past decade.**

During the ten-year national partnership, Wickes stores across the country held 
various fundraising events, most recently “Hop up Kilimanjaro” which saw colleagues
complete 38,000 steps in-store on a Hop Up platform to represent the 38,000 people
diagnosed with blood cancer each year.

Bloodwise – formerly Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research – became Wickes’s first-ever 
national charity partner in 2006, initially for an 18-month period.

Simon King, managing director of Wickes, said:

> “Our colleagues have immersed themselves in fundraising through countless ways,
> such as the Bloodwise London to Paris cycle challenge, numerous cake sales in 
> store and the “Hop Up” challenge last year. The passion and commitment has been
> amazing.”
