# At a glance: who visits Kickstarter and who supports projects there?

**Did you know that the typical visitor to crowdfunding site Kickstarter is a while
male with a college degree and no children at home?**

Or that Facebook is the principal source of leads to the site among social networks?

These are some of the findings shared in infographic format by [CrowdFund Productions](http://www.kickstarterservices.com).

Of course Kickstarter isn’t necessarily the most appropriate site for charities 
running crowdfunding campaigns, but you still might be encourage that UK visitors
to the site were second only to US visitors in the total amount that they pledged
via the site – $39 million v $334.5 million.
