Online payment processing company Charity Checkout has now helped charities raise
£2.1 million in donations since January 2012.

The volume of growth has increased considerably in the past year, especially since
it introduced its Direct Debit service for small charities. The social enterprise
processed the second million pounds in just the last six months.

Having now processed almost 40,000 donations, it reports an **average donation value
of £56.61**.

## Charities new to online fundraising

With its support for smaller charities, the company reports that more than half
of its 1,000 charity clients have not fundraised online before using Charity Checkout.
In addition, it claims that over two thirds of the donations it has received represent
new income for the sector.

Chester Mojay-Sinclare, founder of Charity Checkout said:

> “We specialise in supporting small charities that find the costs or technical
> requirements of traditional payment processing prohibitive. The industry status
> quo is to charge smaller organisations more to compensate for their low transaction
> volume. We take the opposite approach offering discounts for smaller charities
> to ensure our payment service is accessible to all good causes. We’re delighted
> to have reached the £2,000,000 landmark, but there is still a lot more to achieve
> and many more small charities to help access online donations.”

[Charity Checkout](https://www.charitycheckout.co.uk/) charges a transaction fee
of 2.43% on all donations with an annual subscription from £99 per year.
