**YouTube’s Nonprofit channel has shared details of how charities can add music
to accompany their videos at no charge.**

Commissioning music or paying the necessary licence fee is usually an expense too
far for most organisations that are keen simply to get the message out. But a soundtrack
can lift the quality and impact of almost any video.

Fortunately, YouTube’s Audio Library lets you download and hundreds of free music
and sound tracks to edit into your video. To be precise, these free tracks are available
to any YouTube user, not just charities.

YouTube’s latest video for charities is simply reminding charities that they are
available, presumably because they can see these are under-used tools.

Tracks are categorised, so charities can choose from genres such as

 * Pop | Happy
 * Rock | Angry
 * Cinematic | Happy
 * R&B and Soul | Romantic
 * Reggae | Happy

In addition you can look for tracks by length and instrument.

Using the free Creator Studio function in your YouTube account, download your selected
track, and then add it to your video in your video editing software of choice, which
includes YouTube itself of course.
