Just before Christmas a generous donor took Clothes Aid’s ‘Bags of Support’ campaign
slogan a little too literally when she donated a handbag that was found to contain
£769.23 in cash.

The Clothes Aid collector who spotted the cash in a Macmillan Cancer Support bag
in St Albans, handed it in, assuming it was someone’s hard earned savings. Hatfield
Police Station held on to the sum for the obligatory four weeks. After that the
money was gifted to Macmillan Cancer Support.

[Clothes Aid](http://www.clothesaid.co.uk) have been the official clothes collection
partner to Macmillan Cancer Support since 2012 and have raised over £450,000 nationwide
to help provide nurses, financial grants, information and support to those who need
it.
