Personal Gravitas for Fundraisers

Howard Lake | 24 October 2013 | Training

Join us for an interactive session to learn how you can develop your personal gravitas and make an impact as a fundraiser.  Caroline Goyder will share tips from her career helping actors and non-actors alike to perform with poise and power. Jhumar Johnson will share examples from her own fundraising career and explain how you can use personal gravitas in interviews, donor meetings, and speaking to volunteers, team members and your boss to great success.

The Institute of Fundraising Major Donor Special Interest Group and I Am Recruiting are partnering to present this engaging and practical session.  There will be drinks and nibbles after the event so we hope you will stay to mingle and network with colleagues from across the sector.

Caroline Goyder has specialised for nearly a decade in helping non-acting clients to perform with poise and power in real life, whether they are delivering a speech, anchoring a TV show, impressing at an interview, or chairing a board meeting.  Her client list spans fundraisers, CEOs of major companies, nervous interviewees, Al Jazeera and Bloomberg presenters, barristers, journalists, teachers, a monarch, MPs, and A-list actors. Caroline has been featured as an expert on BBC television and radio, and in the Times, the Daily Telegraph, the Guardian, and The Daily Mail. She has written a book, The Star Qualities, which was published by Macmillan in 2009 and featured widely in the press.
