# Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Syria Crisis Appeal launched

**The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) has launched an appeal for the people 
of Syria. Author and actor Michael Palin presented the TV appeal on BBC One last
night.**

According to the [DEC](http://www.dec.org.uk), “two years of war have had a devastating
impact on many Syrian families and have left more than four million people in need
of aid”.
