Fundraising income for Barnardos in Ireland fell from €8.5 million in 2009 to €7.5
million in 2010, according to the charity’s latest annual report.

The annual report also showed how difficult trading has been for Barnardos with
their shops operation losing nearly €50,000 on sales of €1.052 million. Total income
fell from €26 million to €24 million. Barnardos received 63% of its income from
the government in 2010.

Barnardos said its cash income in 2010 was €5.3 million which suggests that the
balance of income, just over €2 million, was in-kind support.
