Healthcare company Sanofi is offering three grants totalling £50,000 to support
patient groups in the UK. The three grants of £25,000, £15,000 or £10,000 will be
awarded to patient groups that can demonstrate that their programmes can deliver
improvements in patient empowerment and information.

The 2012 Patient Group Bursary is open to patient groups in the broadest sense,
whether they are local groups, charities, social enterprises or professional associations.
It is open to organisations based in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

The grants are being offered because Sanofi believes that, given the major structural
change planned for the NHS in England, “patient groups will have a more important
role than ever before in championing the needs of individual patients and driving
up the quality of their care.”
