# New Director of Communications at CAF

Director of Communications Paul Rees

 Paul Rees has been appointed as the Director of Communications at the Charities
Aid Foundation (CAF). He joins from the National Housing Federation, where he has
worked for the last four years as Head of Campaigns and Communications. Before that
he was Head of Communications at the Home Office, where he led communications for
the National Offender Management Service. He has also worked as Head of Communications
at the Zahid Mubarek public inquiry and Director of Communications at the lecturers’
trade union, the AUT (now UCU). Rees began his career in journalism, working as 
a reporter for a range of national newspapers including the Times and Evening Standard,
as well as for BBC Radio 5 Live and Radio 4. He also served as Director of Communications
at the Victoria Climbié public inquiry and Head of Communications at the Ramblers
Association (now Ramblers), where he played a key role in the successful right to
roam campaign. He takes up his new role at CAF at the end of August, reporting to
John Low, CAF Chief Executive. He will lead on CAF’s communications strategy with
specific responsibility for internal communications, events, media relations, policy
