# Diageo Community Awards open

**Drinks company Diageo is reminding Northern Ireland charities that the deadline
for its 2010 Community Awards is 30th November.**

The Diageo Northern Ireland Community Awards scheme is run in conjunction with the
Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action (NICVA) and offers grants of up to
several thousand pounds to a wide range of charities.

In an effort to spread their support to as many charities as possible, organisations
that received a grant in 2009 are not eligible to apply this year.

Diageo and NICVA are advising applicants to pay particular attention to section 
four and five of the application form and to select a specific project rather than
make a request for general funding.
Earlier this year Diageo Northern Ireland won
the top accolade as Business in the Community’s Responsible Company of the Year.
