The Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA) is to appoint a staff member
to expand its monitoring of standards amongst street fundraisers and face-to-face
fundraising agencies. The new job will include regular patrols to check that street
fundraisers are complying with the code of practice.

The new quality and compliance assistant will work with PFRA’s head of standards
Nick Henry, enabling the organisation to expand its work both in London and across
the country to towns and cities where it has not yet been able to conduct this monitoring.

Mark Carter-Nesbitt, Managing Director of fundraising agency Urban Leaf and a member
of PFRA’s personnel sub-committee, said: “Since Nick Henry was appointed as head
of standards last April, PFRA has already doubled the number of mystery shops carried
out each month.

“The appointment of a quality and compliance assistant is a natural progression
in our expanding professional standards role and will add significant value to the
excellent work Nick is already doing in providing PFRA members, gatekeepers and
the general public with a robust resource for monitoring and improving standards
across the spectrum of face-to-face activity.”
