**Yesterday’s 30th Bupa Great North Run saw over 4,000 people run to raise funds
for Alzheimer’s Society, Bupa’s nominated charity for 2010.**

The team included model and TV presenter Nell McAndrew, who was running in memory
of her grandrather, who died in March this year; and BBC presenter Jamie Darling,
who was nursing an Achilles tendon injury. Hollyoaks and Casualty actor Andy Newton-
Lee flew in from Los Angeles especially to take part in the 13-mile run.

This is the second year that Alzheimer’s Society has been Bupa’s nominated charity
for the Bupa Great Run Series. Last year’s event raised over £1 million and the
charity expect to beat that this year. The final Bupa Great Run in the 2010 series
is the Bupa Great South Run in Portsmouth on 29 October.
