The UK’s first Small Charity Week gets underway next week, created by the The Foundation
for Social Improvement (FSI).

Running from 14 to 18 June 2010, it aims to “bring together the UK’s vibrant small
charity sector to share ideas, stories and knowledge, and celebrate the value of
small charities in our communities.”

Each day has a particular theme – campaigns, policy, fundraising, car draw day,
and celebration day. The ‘car draw day’ refers to the FSI’s very useful initiative
in securing a new Mini car as a raffle prize that is open to any UK small charity.
For every £2 ticket you sell, whether online or in paper format, your charity receives
£1.90. The [Great Big Small Charity Car Draw](http://www.thefsi.org/2009/11/car-draw-2010)
is an easy way to raise funds with a raffle prize that would be beyond the reach
of most small charities. Last year the FSI’s first Small Charity Car Draw raised
over £72,000 for charities across the UK.
