Cancer Research UK has created a website which graphically demonstrates the work
funded by public donations and how it helps save lives.

The site at seewhereyourmoneygoes.org.uk features an interactive map filled with
inspirational video messages from people all over the UK who work for, or support,
Cancer Research UK, including scientists, donors, and cancer survivors.

The site was created by [RAPP](http://uk.rapp.com) and is being promoted to existing
donors through mail and e-mail.

Visitors can click on a person and view a video of them either explaining why they
support the charity, talking about the work the donations fund, or explaining how
they survived cancer.

The site encourages people to donate, share the site using various social media
options, and it allows people to leave a message, sharing their reasons for supporting
Cancer Research UK.

Digital agency [Baigent](http://www.baigent.net) were responsible for some of the
behind-the-scenes forms and data management that make the site function so efficiently.

For example, registered supporters wishing to use the site to increase their donation
will find that their name, address and other details have been automatically transferred
onto the donation form after they have completed an initial security check.

If an existing donor wishes to increase their direct debit donation, they find that
they have the option of choosing the amount, or they can select one of the three
personalised suggested donation amounts.

Nick Georgiadis, Head of Direct Giving Development at Cancer Research UK, said: "
Now, more than ever, it’s imperative that charities show their supporters exactly
how their donations are being used. Our new website allows us to do this, by showing
how our lifesaving work is making a real difference to people in the UK".

RAPP Executive Creative Director, Rik Haslam, added: "This is a first for a UK charity
and a testament to how technology can be used to engage. It’s a truly interactive
web platform that really brings Cancer Research UK’s work to life and in doing so
will hopefully inspire more people to support the charity’s lifesaving work."
