The first recipients are Dame Vivien Duffield CBE, Roger de Haan CBE, Dr Carol Høgel
CBE, Mr Martin and Carmel Naughton, and Lord and Lady Sainsbury.

Colin Tweedy, Chief Executive of Arts & Business, said: "Arts & Business is honoured
to have been able to create this Medal for our President, The Prince of Wales, to
recognise philanthropists who give generously in time, skills and financial support.
They are an inspiration to us all."

The first five recipients were chosen after an open nomination process. The Prince
of Wales’ Arts Advisory Group drew up a short list of twenty philanthropists which
went forward to a final judging panel of artists, who chose the first five recipients.

The medals will be presented each year from now on.
