The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) is to hold a conference
for company secretaries in a range of non-profit making organisations including
charities, social enterprises and industrial and provident societies. The Charity
Secretaries Conference and Exhibition will take place on 30 January 2008 at Gibson
Hall, Bishopsgate, London, and is aimed at company secretaries, trustees, chief
executives, lawyers, auditors and consultants.

The programme will bring together speakers from government, regulatory bodies and
practitioners providing both theoretical and practical understanding to the challenges
introduced by the Charities Act, Companies Act 2006 and the ongoing HM Treasury
review.

The event will be chaired by David Brindle, the Public Services Editor of The Guardian
and speakers will include Jane Hobson, Head of Policy at the Charity Commission
and Jane Ryder, Chief Executive of the Scottish Charity Regulator.
