The NHS Smokefree campaign is partnering with local commercial radio in a nationwide
campaign to encourage people to stop smoking for good with the support of the NHS.
Smokers are being encouraged to raise funds for charity via Justgiving as they quit.

Smokers making a quit attempt can choose any of the 2,000 charities listed on Justgiving’s
website, and then encourage their friends and family to sponsor them online as they
attempt to beat their habit for good.

The Big Quit campaign launches on 24 September and will run for three weeks across
all local commercial radio stations throughout England.

For the previous three weeks DJs have been sowing the seeds of quitting in people’s
minds and encouraging them to prepare to start stopping for good from 24 September.
