Law firm Thomas Eggar has launched ‘Tolley’s guide to the Charity’s Act 2006’. Authors
Jean-Paul da Costa, partner at law-firm Thomas Eggar, and Helen Harvie, Thomas Eggar
associate, signed copies at the London event. The book provides authoritative and
concise guidance on the impact of the Charity’s Act 2006 on charities and their
advisors.
This latest book in the ‘Tolley’s guide to…’ series explains the introduction
of the Charitable Incorporated Organisation, a new type of charitable organisation,
as well as the public benefit test and the creation of the new Charities Tribunal.
It also discusses how the Act better facilitates mergers and collaborations between
charities.

Jean-Paul da Costa said: “Helen and I enjoyed being able to pass on our intimate
knowledge of The Charity’s Act 2006. We would like to thank Thomas Eggar for being
so supportive of our ambitions and allowing us to collaborate on this project.”
