**Motorway service area company Moto is celebrating the first anniversary of its
community charity – The Moto in the Community Trust. The trust was set up in November
2005 to make a difference to the communities around the 48 Moto locations.**

In the trust’s first year, 48 community schools have been adopted by the Moto in
the Community Trust focusing on supporting academic, creative, and sporting challenges
for their schools as well as encouraging environmental initiatives.

In addition, over 40 financial grants were made to small charitable organisations
and community projects around the UK in 2006.

As well as focusing on Moto communities, The Trust adopts a favourite charity every
year. In 2006, Rainbow House, a centre for conductive education, based in Lancashire
benefited from a grant of over £90,000, helping to build a new Legacy centre.

The Trust’s favourite charity for 2007 is The Children’s Trust, who provide specialist
nursing care, therapy and education for children with multiple disabilities from
all over the UK.

Brian Lotts, Chairman for the Trust said: “It’s all down to the dedication of Moto
staff around the UK who are continually fundraising for the Trust to allow us to
support our communities. Moto customers have been extremely generous over the years
which is allowing us to grow our charitable work making a really positive contribution
to our communities.”

Angie Turner, Corporate Fundraising Manager at The Children’s Trust said: “We are
thrilled to be chosen as Moto’s adopted charity and look forward to a successful
partnership in 2007. Money raised will go towards The Children’s Trust’s current
appeal for a new national rehabilitation centre for children with acquired brain
injury. Moto’s support will enable us to help more children and their families from
all over the UK.”
