The British Heart Foundation (BHF) has been voted by HBOS as its Charity of the
Year for 2007 after a record vote by more than 26,000 members of staff.
HBOS staff
will take part in fundraising events throughout the year, with HBOS Foundation matching
the money raised by colleagues.

Family Holiday Association, RNLI, and WRVS were on the shortlist with BHF, and each
will receive a runners-up donation of £50,000. In addition, once the Charity of
the Year partnership reaches £1 million, the runners-up will receive an equal three-
way share of all additional money raised.

HBOS Group raised £4.5 million for charity during 2006 through its two main fundraising
programmes, Million £ Challenge and Matched Funding.

charities: I CAN (the children’s communication charity), Crisis and Leonard Cheshire.
A further £2 million was raised through the Matched Funding scheme.

During last year around 37,000 HBOS staff got involved in a wide variety of different
fundraising activities including from sponsored walks to black tie gala events.
