# Lloyds TSB chooses Barnardo's as charity of the year

Children’s charity Barnardo’s has been selected as Lloyds TSB charity of the year
for 2007. The organisations hope to raise over £1 million to fund vocational and
educational training schemes for thousands of disadvantaged young people across 
the UK.
Sally Jones-Evans, Lloyds TSB executive sponsor of the Charity of the Year
Programme, said that record numbers among its 68,000 staff had taken part in the
vote, and Martin Narey, Barnardo’s Chief Executive, thanked the staff for their 
support.

Barnardo’s faced competition from over a hundred charities in the vote. The partnership
is likely to be the charity’s largest single corporate relationship of 2007.
