Samaritans, the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund (FSNBF) and the Royal National
Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) have created “Lifelines on Call” to generate tax-effective
regular gifts for their organisations.

Roy Lawrenson, Chief Executive of the FSNBF said: “we will see three well-loved
organisations working in synergy to produce a charitable alliance, which will enhance
the income streams of each organisation and revitalise the charity sector.”

RNLI Director of Fundraising and Communications, David Brann, suggested that the
alliance will prove popular with those who were not sure which charity to support.“
Many people who’d like to give to charity have such busy lives that they don’t get
around to sorting out a charity to support or even a method of giving regularly.

“This alliance allows people to support three of their favourite charities at once
and offers an easy and tax efficient way of doing so.

David King, Chief Executive of Samaritans, added that the Payroll Giving Quality
Mark scheme, to be launched later this year, would benefit the consortium as it
would encourage more companies to promote payroll giving.
