# MS chosen as Tesco charity of the year

Multiple Sclerosis Ireland has been selected as the Tesco charity of the year for
2006. The Tesco charity of the year is one of the most sought after corporate partnerships
in the charity sector in Ireland. 
Previous fundraising partnerships with Tesco 
have raised ‚€380,000 for the Irish Cancer Society, ‚€500,000 for the Alzheimer 
Society and ‚€700,000 for Downs Syndrome. The current partner is the Hospice Foundation.

The selection process involves charities in a competitive pitch. The emphasis for
Tesco is the connection to local service provision and their branch network.
