The Institute of Fundraising will revise its Code of Fundraising Practice on Legacy
Fundraising to cover the full legacy process, including administration, management
and fulfilment of a legacy gift.
Outlining best practice guidance for charities
engaged in legacy fundraising, the current Code will be revised and updated to take
into account improvements in best practice and new legislation.

The Institute is asking fundraisers and consultants with significant experience
of legacy fundraising and lawyers to help develop the Code by applying to Chair
or join the Working Party. The deadline for applications to join the Working Party
is 25 November 2005.

Legacies raise over £1.3 billion for charities each year, so best practice in this
area is of major importance to the sector.
