Paul Goggins MP has been appointed Parliamentary under Secretary with responsibility
for the voluntary and community sector, taking over from Fiona Mactaggart, also
a Parliamentary under Secretary, who now has responsibility for the criminal justice
system and criminal law.
Paul Goggins will support Hazel Blears, Minister of State
in the Home Office.

At the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, Minister of Sport Richard Caborn
has been given responsibility for the National Lottery, as well as gambling.

Paul Goggins won’t be focusing exclusively on the voluntary and community sector:
his other areas of responsibility are serious and organised crime, drugs, the Asset
Recovery Agency, the Security Industry Authority, public order, sex offences, roads
policing, animal extremism, internet crime, child pornography, football disorder,
and community cohesion, faith and race
