# Make Poverty History is top charity site, say Hitwise UK

Online traffic service Hitwise UK reports that the website of the Make Poverty History
reached the number one position in the online charities sector due to an ad campaign
featuring a number of high-profile celebrities. 
Hitwise data for the week ending
9 April 2005 reveals that the Make Poverty History website was the top site in the
Community – Humanitarian sector with more than 11% market share following the launch
of the campaign.

Traffic to the site remained high in the week following the campaign’s launch on
31 March 2005.

Perhaps not surprisingly ‘make poverty history’ was the top search term driving 
traffic to sites in the humanitarian category for the week ending 9 April.
