Outstanding young instrumentalists are invited to apply for the Musicians’ Benevolent
Fund Awards for under 18s, worth up to £1,000 each.
Applications can be made towards
the costs of buying an instrument, private music lessons or fees (and occasionally
travel expenses) for the junior departments of the principal music colleges in the
UK.

Individual awards are likely to range from £300 to £1,000 for the 2005/06 academic
year and the total amount available for distribution will be in the region of £100,000.

Applicants must have reached the level of ‘distinction’ in their most recent practical
examination by a recognised musical examining body and parents/guardians of applicants
should be able to demonstrate financial need.
