Louise Holland, the Director of National Events at Cancer Research UK, has been
voted the “Motivator of the Year,” sponsored by the promotional marketing and motivation
exhibition, The National Incentive Show.
The Motivator of the Year award recognises
an individual who is an outstanding achiever in a business, sport, entertainment
or charity capacity. Louise Holland received the award in recognition of her work
leading and developing Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life event since it started
in 1984.

Other nominees included Linda Bennett, Bob Geldof, Helena Kennedy QC, comedian Francesca
Martinez, Olympic gold medallist Matthew Pincent and Paralympic gold medallist Tanni
Grey Thompson.

Holland established Cancer Research UK’s national events department which has grown
from a staff of six in 1996 to nearly 80. Her team annually raises over £38 million
from events such as the London Marathon, the Great North Run and 10K run series.
