The Institute of Fundraising has announced the results of a web survey, run in partnership
with the Institute for Philanthropy, to establish the views of fundraising organisations
about the potential introduction of lifetime legacies in the UK.
Ninety seven percent
of respondents thought there would be benefits from the introduction of lifetime
legacies in the UK and seventy six percent believe that their organisation could
benefit from this new form of giving.

Respondents identified a broad range of benefits from introducing lifetime legacies
in the UK, including:

The opportunity to establish a long-term relationship with a donor (90%)

in the UK; exploring the mechanics of implementing these tax-effective, donation
vehicles in the UK.
