Grants of nearly £1.5 million, previously on hold during the legal dispute, have
now been made by The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.
The grants had been
agreed in principle in 2003, before the Fund’s assets were frozen as a result of
a legal dispute, now ended, and have now been updated, reassessed and approved for
release.

The grants help disadvantaged people in the UK and overseas. In the UK the Fund
supports work with young people who find the transition to adulthood especially
difficult, including, in this round, three new grants that will address the health
and social welfare of young refugees and asylum seekers.

The Fund’s international grants programme aids work for the creation of safe and
viable communities in post-conflict countries.
